Dear readers, recently I read my Feb 22 water and gas bill for my household and was shocked to note that the bill was higher than before! If the increase was from an electricity bill, I may not have been as much surprised since electricity price tariffs have been increasing. But for water and gas bills, why the increase?
Curious, I took a look at the water and gas billing rates and my typical gas and water consumption for the previous months. The water and gas rates were about the same, however my water and gas consumption for February were much higher.
After sometime, I realized this increase in my water, gas and to add, electricity bill is a recurring annual trend. And this annual trend was arising from my increased water, electricity and gas consumption during the Chinese New Year period: spring cleaning and more cooking for festive dishes!
It makes sense to me now!
