MY INVESTING AND WORK LIFE 2020 REVEALED!

Dear readers, we have come to the last Sunday and week of Year 2020. It is definitely a time to review our lives in year 2020 though everyday is a good time for the review. This is so since every morning when you wake up, you wake up to a day which is the first day of the rest of your life!

I have been reviewing my work and investing life for quite some time lately. And I thought I will share with you readers in this post.

Work-wise, Year 2020 has been challenging for me and it’s not about the Covid-19 work-from-home (WFM) arrangements. In fact, I love the WFM arrangements as it gives me more time to spend with my family despite my working from home.

Work has been challenging this year because I have been assigned to a new area of work. A new area of work which I have not been in before. A new work area which has more job and supervisory responsibilities and yes, the amount of work is simply insane! I am still doing my best everyday at work and even now in overtime “OT” hours to manage my work every day and to balance working with my personal and family commitments. Despite being overwhelmed with work, I am still grateful because I have a job. Many people these days are out of jobs and are looking for one. I wish those individuals looking for job will get the jobs they like as soon as possible.

On the investment front, the stock markets have not crashed this year though I have expected it at the beginning of the year. The stock markets come to crashing in March 2020 though the financial authorities worldwide have stepped in to help. Hence, in this year, I have not added new investment positions and instead have focused on Savings and Savings. I have been advocating you readers to save to build up an investment war chest so as to deploy these at opportune times of the stocks markets next year. My advice for you readers is not to invest any new fresh capital now since the stocks markets now are neither here nor there. Invest only at the right opportunity, minimally when the stocks markets crash!
