$12 may not be a large amount but in today’s society of high prices of almost everything, we can do so much more with $12!
$12 can mean two or three packets of chicken rice!
$12 can pay a trip to the barber!
Recently, my watch’s battery went flat. Over the last weekends, I brought my watch to a heartland watch shop to enquire about the price of battery replacement. While this watch was bought from a watch chain, I went to a heartland shop, thinking that the cost of battery replacement should be lower than from the watch chain.
The uncle whom I asked replied nonchalantly: “$12”. I asked him whether the price could be lower. He did not reply and I guessed what he meant. I told him I would consider his offer and walked off.
Thereafter, I visited the watch chain shop, just a stone’s throw away. I was incredibly surprised, happy and very grateful that the attendant told me that battery replacement service is free! I Thanked the attendant profusely as I can save $12!
There you go! Always challenge your assumptions! I have assumed that the watch shop will replace the battery of the watch but at a hefty price, but how wrong was my assumption! By challenging my assumption and going direct to the watch shop, I am able to save $12 from my wallets!
I know to many folks reading here, $12 may not seem to be a big deal! But every money saved is every money earned and so I am happy with my $12 saved, knowing that it can help me pay for two mixed-vegetables meals outside!
I encourage all of you to see how best we can save our monies in our daily lives! Every cent adds up! Especially in this high-cost inflation environment that we are in now.
