Dear readers, details of annual interest rates of the next Singapore Savings Bonds, May 24, (SBMAY24 GX24050X) bonds will be announced next Monday (1 Apr 24).
From what I understand, May 24 Singapore Savings Bonds will close on 25 Apr 24 and allotment of the bonds will be on 26 Apr 24. Issue date of the Bonds will be on 2 May 24.
The golden question: what is the expected annual average 10-year interest rate of the May 24 Singapore Savings Bonds?
Looking at the annual average 10-year interest rates of the savings bonds issued this year-to-date, these interest rates have been varying from below 3% (2.80%+) per annum to slightly over 3% per annum.
Jan-24: 3.07% per annum
Feb 24: 2.81% per annum
Mar 24: 2.88% per annum
Apr 24: 3.04% per annum
Given the above trend, I believe it is not a given that May 24 Singapore Savings Bonds will deliver an average 10-year annual interest rate of above 3% per annum.
But I believe the average 10-year annual interest rate will neither be far off from the 3% per annum interest rate too.
Give and take, I expect a minimum 2.90% per annum for the average 10-year interest rate for May 24 Singapore Savings Bonds.
