LIKELY PRIVATISATION OF THESE SINGAPORE STOCKS!

Dear readers, in the recent two weeks, there have been articles published of potential privatisation candidates for two Singapore stocks: yes one potential candidate in a week.

The first article was about Wing Tai stock, published last week.

The second article was about ValueMax, published just yesterday.

I am not naming where the aforementioned articles were published, you can search online about them.

I believe such articles may lead some investors to go into speculation mode and buy up these stocks on the fear of missing out.

I noticed that indeed for some stocks featured as potential privatisation plays, the stock prices of these stocks rallied up soon after.

Not for Wing Tai, or ValueMax stock though, this time round.

Wing Tai stock closed minus 4.73% for the past 5 days though on a preceding month basis, the stock was up 13.7%.

ValueMax stock price was down 5.06% today, though its price was up 2.74% for the past 5 days and in the past month, the stock was up 17.2%.

My conclusion was that perhaps these articles on the potential privatisation candidacy of these two stocks came after a much rallying of the stock prices for these two stocks and hence there is now the inevitable profit-taking.

It does not pay to be speculative! Always invest after doing one’s own due diligence!
