Dear readers, yesterday was a special day, 29 Feb 2024 or also called Leap Day, that comes only once in four years.
I was surprised that some merchants had good promotions and discounts on Leap Day as I do not recall the same for the past Leap Day (29 Feb 2020).
There was a one-for-one Starbucks promotions for drinks yesterday and my wife helped to buy two of these promotional drinks.
Then there was the not-to-be-missed 2 sets of KFC meals at just $10 nett! Each set of KFC meal came with two pieces of chicken (choice of crispy or original), one whipped potato and a drink.
I headed down to the KFC outlet nearest my house after work yesterday to buy the promotional KFC sets and saw many queuing at the outlet. I suppose they are like me, queuing up for the promotional sets.
I have reduced patronizing KFC even since KFC increased their two-piece meals way to close to $10 per set. Hence, yesterday’s promotional set on a LEAP day was much welcome, even though many waiting in queue seem to want to LEAP frog one another since the wait was simply too long. And I continued to hold my LEAP of faith during the long wait.
After 30 mins, I finally had my order of the fried chicken set orders in my hands and LEAPt out of the KFC outlet in joy.
I am glad that amidst the high costs of living these days, on a LEAP day, I managed to save some monies for one of my favorite meals which I have avoided due to higher prices.
Hence, I LEAPted in joy on this LEAP day!
