Dear readers, the application for June 23 Singapore Savings Bonds (SSB) will open in the next few weeks. How much will the annual interest be?
The average annual 10-year interest of the most recent May 23 SSB is at a humble 3.07% per annum, humble as compared to the comparatively higher average annual 10-year interest of Apr 23 at 3.15% per annum.
The average annual 10-year interest of Mar 23 SSB is 2.90% and that of Feb 23 SSB at 2.97%. the average annual 10-year interest of Jan 23 SSB is 3.26%. If the downward trajectory of the average annual 10-year interest of SSBs is to continue, we cannot rule out that the average 10-year yield of Jun 23 SSB can be below 3% per annum since we have had the average annual 10-year interest of Feb 23 and Mar 23 as below 3% per annum too.
With interest rates of fixed deposits from banks declining but still at more than 3% per annum, I believe the average annual 10-year yield of Jun 23 SSB to be between 3% and 3.07% (from May 23 SSB), I project this yield to be 3.03% per annum.
