Dear readers, this morning, I woke up to the news that Joe Biden wins the US Presidential Election. This comes after days of counting of votes since US Polling Day earlier last week.
With Joe Biden becoming America’s 46th President, I believe stock markets will have a knee-jerk reaction tomorrow when stocks markets reopen. This reaction should be a positive one given how Joe Biden has promised to tackle US’ Covid-19 situation. But however, if a Biden’s win has already been priced into the recent stock market rally, it will also be no surprise to have investors taking profits which will then lead to stocks markets heading south.
But investing is always a long-term journey. The catalyst many investors are looking at will be no doubt the Covid-19 vaccine. Markets should respond positively to a vaccine but I believe overall, the macro economical and financial realities are bearish and the risk of a global stock markets meltdown, a decade-in-waiting is not low.
