Dear readers, some time ago, I blogged in advance of a fixed deposit promotion , ahead of the actual launch of the promotion.
The fixed deposit promotion billed itself as a 6.6 promotion, in line with its roll out on 6th Jun 2022.
I have guessed that the fixed deposit promotional rate might be as high as 2.66% per annum, containing this digit in the interest rate in line with the 6.6 promotion.
The fixed deposit promotion is finally out and the promotional rate is at 1% per annum for fresh funds of at least $60,000, held for 6 months => hence the so-called 6.6 promotion.
While I was a tad disappointed that the interest rate is not as high, a 1% for a minimum 6 months of fixed deposit holding is still considered attractive.
