Dear readers, we are now in mid of November. And soon we will be celebrating Christmas and then ushering in a brand-new year!
Is it time now to slow down the pace of your work?
Well, this is precisely the time of the year when organisations typically wrap up the workplan for the year and strategize ahead for the upcoming new year.
This is also the time when employees take or clear leaves and offices will be comparatively quieter.
Even if one is still to “chiong” in one’s work, one will inevitably feel influenced by the quieter tempo in the office or colleagues pacing down in their work.
I believe while this is the time when one can pace down a little in one’s work, one should not rest on one’s laurels.
Especially so, when some analysts have predicted that year 2024 could be a year of recession.
Hence, for those receiving year-end bonuses soon, I will advocate that we should save up the bonus as much as we could, given the continuing uncertainties forecasted by analysts for next year.
By all means, celebrate this festive season and your hard work for this year! But let’s be balanced and continue to work hard, work smart and save diligently in this uncertain macro economical environment where high costs of living are now a new normal.
