HOW I SAVE 33% FROM BUYING SAME BRAND OF BUTTER AT SAME STORE?

Dear readers, with high costs of living becoming now the norm, I believe many of us are looking at ways to see how best we can save some monies, in all aspects of our lives.

Discretionary expenses aside, I believe many of us spend a bulk of our monies on meals and groceries. Hence, if we can save a few cents or dollars with each meal and grocery transaction, here and there, the savings will add up to a decent sum over time.

I saved 33% from my recent grocery purchase on butter, and on the same brand of butter (hence savings was not via choosing a cheaper brand of butter).

How did I do that? Well I believe many would think that I have patronised a bargain shop, well, it was not.

In essence, I saved 33% from buying the same brand of butter at the same store all through observation. The store sells the butter in its cube form at 200 gram for a promotional price of $6.66, this versus the same butter in 20 mini cubes of 9 g butter in the easier to serve package.

Based on simple mathematics, the cost of the butter per gram is $0.0333 (cube form) versus $0.0442 (in the mini cubes format). I bought the 200g of butter in the cube form, which is hence cheaper than the mini cube butter by 33% or a third!

Beside saving monies, the cube form is more environmental friendly as only a piece of paper wrapper is to be disposed of, versus quite a couple of plastic tabs from the mini cube butters.

That’s it for my insights today.  I Thank you once again for your support of SG STOCKS INVESTING, your Money and Lifestyle magazine! Connect with me here to follow the daily exciting and useful posts on these two blogs, Thank You for your support!
