Dear readers, summarized in the simple chart above are the year-to-date performances of the regional and international stocks markets including Singapore’s. As could be seen from the chart, the US and Australian stocks markets are clear winners for Year 2019. And the top losing regional markets is Malaysia.
Hong Kong stocks markets, despites the protests in the county still managed to eke out a 6.43% gain which is better than that for Singapore. This is a surprise isn’t it?
Singapore’s stocks markets gains as could be seen from the above charts are very modest. It is hence why I have at the beginning of this year, focus on adding new positions in US stocks and yes I was right since the US stocks outperformed Singapore stocks.
