Dear readers, yesterday I finally made my first jog in more than 3 months ever since the days before the Circuit Breaker. Before Covid-19, I make it a commitment to jog at least once a week. But my routine stopped when the Covid-19 situation became more intense in earlier March this year.
Thereafter the Circuit Breaker was imposed on 7 Apr 2020, I stopped my jog through the Circuit Breaker all the way to Phase 1 of the Safe Re-opening. Throughout this whole period, I assessed the Covid-19 situation closely to assess whether there could still be risks, no matter how small in contracting Covid-19 with a jog outside unmasked. Though I still saw joggers outside during Covid-19 and Phase 1, I was reluctant to resume jogging.
But I still need to keep fit and healthy, hence instead of jogging, I found a new fitness regime in brisk walking with my mask on during the Circuit Breaker and Phase 1. I found myself doing brisk walking few times a week, often more than an hour each time.
With Phase 2 Safe Reopening last Friday and the number of Covid-19 cases coming down, I thought it is a bit safer to go for that much-needed jog once again. Hence, I took off my mask yesterday evening and went for a long run. After jogging for 6km, I was totally drenched with sweat and felt so rewarded after a good long jog in such a long time!
