Dear readers, Elite Commercial Reit has opened its IPO on 28 Jan 2020 and will close at 12pm on 4 Feb 2020. Elite Commerical Reit is a commercial Reit with a focus on office assets in the UK and is expected to commence trading on 6 Feb 2020.
In general, I am not interested in IPOs because I prefer to invest in stocks which have been on the stock markets for some time as I will then be able suss out the market demand and assess on whether the stock is attractive to invest both fundamentally and technically after the IPO period is over.
In any case, for investors interested in the Elite Commerical Reit IPO, I would like to share with you the following points:
- Elite Commercial Reit IPO came at the time of the Wuhan coronavirus episode and I am not sure how this Reit will perform on 6 Feb 2020 as the Wuhan episode may still be ongoing for some time. If the Reit price goes south, there could be even opportunities for investors to invest in Elite Commerical Reit at a price lower than the IPO price.
- Elite Commercial Reit is the first Reit on the Singapore stocks exchange to be denominated in British Pound. Britain has just left the EU. I am not sure how the British pound will perform in the future.
- There are a couple of Reits with overseas assets listed on the SGX. Investors may wish to do a detailed comparison of Elite Commercial Reits with its existing SGX peers to assess whether Elite Commercial Reit is a good investment at its IPO price.
The above three points are just my humble thoughts, hope they will not affect your investing decision in Elite Commercial Reit IPO. And I wish Elite Commercial Reit success in its trading debut for a good performance means good returns to fellow investors. And good performance of IPOs will only be good for the Singapore stocks markets.
