Dear readers, the US stocks markets in Dow Jones have just joined S&P 500 in entering the Bear market. A Bear market is characterised as a pullback of 20% or more.
The S&P500 entered into bear market in June 2022, falling more than 20% from its Jan 3 record.
The Dow Jones entered into bear market yesterday, with 20.5% below its 4 January record.
This is not the time to go bargain hunting as there should be more downside to go for the US stock markets along the themes of interest rate hikes, Federal Reserve action.
Investors would not want to “catch a falling knife”. I would encourage investors to be patient and enter the stock markets only when the return-to-risk ratio is significant. This is definitely not the time to enter the stock markets now. A more probable point would be when global and regional stock markets also fall in tandem or when investors invest during one of the lows in a global wide stock markets corrections.
