Dear readers, today’s Business Times reported that salaries for degree holders have gone down. The median income of full-time employed degree holders was S$7,351 in 2021, down from S$7,434 in 2020 and S$7,605 in 2019 before the pandemic.
A median salary of S$7,351 for full-time employed degree holders. This means that if you are a full-time employee degree holders and earning a monthly salary of S$7,351, you are at the 50% percentile, mid-way point in terms of salaries amongst all employed degree holders.
While a higher salary is always good, I am always of the view that salary alone is just one half of the equation, the more important half is how much one actually saves every month, for it is only through savings that individuals can gradually accumulate and create wealth.
