Could Changi Airport Group be Listed?

Dear readers, amidst the talk and discussion on how the Singapore stocks markets could be rejuvenated, there was chatter within the online fraternity that notable local companies can be listed.

Such listing, as the discussion goes, could boost local investors’ confidence in the Singapore stock market, having the likes of big corporate companies which are familiar to many being listed.

Income Singapore was one such possible company being touted about, especially in the light of the previous episode concerning Allianz’s attempt to acquire the company. Some have suggested that Income Singapore taps the equity markets for the funding that it may require.

Another Singapore company that has also been similarly touted about is Changi Airport Group.

Changi Airport Group (CAG) which manages Singapore’s Changi Airport and provides management services to some overseas airports via its subsidiary, Changi Airport International was formed in 2009. And to date, CAG has grown into a local company that is recognized by both Singaporeans and others overseas.

A recent development for CAG is the appointment of Mr Lim Ming Yan as Deputy Chairman of CAG from 1 Jan 2025 and thereafter Chairman of CAG from 1 Apr 2025.

Mr Lim was formerly CEO of Capitaland before. Should there be a possibility that CAG be listed, the company could tap on the experience and knowledge of Mr Lim of operating as not just a listed entity but a successful one given his experience in Capitaland.
