Dear readers, last month, I shared with readers a post on how I and my kids were approached by clowns outside my kids’ school gate. You can re-read the post here: “A Clown Outside School Gate”. I am sorry, if the title of that clown related post reads or sounds like the title of a movie …..yes, that’s right, the 2014 horror move called “Clown”! Hmm, paiseh, the man who dressed like a clown who approached my kids and I in broad day light with his clown make-up really shocked me like a horror movie!
Hmm, okay, back to serious business. I chanced upon a Facebook post, posted today by our Speaker of Parliament, Mr Tan Chuan-Jin which mentioned some clowns appearing outside the gates of our school. I saw the photo of the clown and yes, it is the clown who approached my kids and I! I recognized him (the clown) from the photo and again, I relived the shock this clown gave me and my kids once again!
It is important to teach kids not to follow strangers, clowns or not clowns, sweets or no sweets. You can read Mr Tan’s post on his Facebook page here.
I just read that the police has been alerted on the clown-related marketing tactic and the company behind the marketing has apologised as per the Straits Times article here.
