Dear readers, today is Day 9 of Singapore’s Circuit Breaker Stay Home period. I hope all of you are feeling well, staying healthy and safe. As usual, in today’s post, I am chronicling my daily experiences of staying home during the Circuit Breaker period in Circuit Breaker Stay Home Diary.
The last two days saw Singapore recording daily high of new Covid-19 cases in the order of 300 plus. Yesterday, Singapore’s Covid-19 multi-agency taskforce announced that it is compulsory for all to wear masks when leaving the house else a $300 fine will be imposed on first-time offenders.
Pretty much, I stay home for most of the days these days. Early this morning, as I took my watering can to water my potted plants just outside of my house as part of the usual routine, it dawned on me that I had to wear my mask even though my potted plants are just outside of my house and the whole plant-watering will take just less than a minute. This is because common corridors are ultimately still public places.
Hence, as I watered my potted plants with my face partially covered by a mask, I could sense that my little plants could not recognize me and they might have been scared of what seems to be a different person this morning to cater to their little needs. However, I believe my plants will get acquainted with my masked appearance for the remaining days of the Circuit Breaker period.
On a serious note, I think we have to flatten the Covid-19 cases curve here in Singapore immediately with the surge in recent daily cases. So, let us stay home as much as we could, wear a mask as soon as we are outside of our house.
