BS24113N 6-MONTH T-BILL: APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN!

Dear readers, the latest 6-month T-bill, BS24113N is now open for application.

The auction date of BS24113N is 4 Jul 24 and issue date is 9 Jul 24. The T-bill matures on 7 Jan 25.

The recent cut-off yields of the 6-month T-bills remain reasonably strong at around 3.75% per annum:

BS24112W, auction date: 20 Jun 24; cut-off yield of 3.74% per annum

BS24111X, auction date: 6 Jun 24; cut-off yield of 3.76% per annum

Based on my records, the cut-off yields of majority of the 6-month T-bills with auction dates this year, hover around 3.75% per annum.

Many years ago, when interest rate of T-bills are not as attractive as now, many dividend-seeking investors invest in stocks which provide on average 4% per annum dividend yields.  However, stock investing is with risk to capital.

Compared to T-bills which now offer close to 4% per annum interests at relatively not much of a capital risk and I believe savers are getting a good deal!

However, everything must be taken in context. These days, the cost of living is much higher as compared to the past and I believe in general, a non-investor spends more these days than many years ago.
