Before we take a look at a possible cut-off yield of BS23121E, let us take a look at the cut-off yields of previous six-monthly T-bills as below.
BS23120A, auction date: 12 Oct 23; cut-off yield of 3.87% per annum.
BS23119H, auction date: 28 Sep 23; cut-off yield of 4.07% per annum.
BS23118F, auction date: 14 Sep 23; cut-off yield of 3.73% per annum.
BS23117F, auction date: 31 Aug 23; cut-off yield of 3.70% per annum.
BS23116F, auction date: 17 Aug 23; cut-off yield of 3.73% per annum.
BS23115E, auction date: 3 Aug 23; cut-off yield of 3.75% per annum
BS23114A, auction date: 20 Jul 23; cut-off yield of 3.85% per annum
BS23113V, auction date: 6 Jul 23; cut-off yield of 3.99% per annum
BS23112N, auction date: 22 Jun 23; cut-off yield of 3.89% p.a. per annum
BS23111W, auction date: 8 Jun 23; cut-off yield of 3.84% p.a. per annum
The cut-off yield has certainly increased from 3.70% per annum for BS23117F all the way to above 4.07% per annum for the most recent BS23119H T-bill. However, to the surprise of some, the cut-off yield of the latest BS23120A went lower, to 3.87% per annum.
Hence, I believe there may still be a chance for the cut-off yield of BS23121E to head south a little. I am projecting an approximate 3.80% per annum cut-off yield for BS23121E T-bill.
