BY24101X 1-YEAR Treasury T-BILL: EXPECTED INTEREST RATE (CUT-OFF YIELD)

ARE PEOPLE CATCHING HIGH INTEREST RATES BEFORE THEY TAPER OFF?

Dear readers, the application results of the Apr 2023 Singapore Savings Bonds have been released.

For the Feb 23 Savings Bonds, amount of bonds issued was $472,280,500, same as the amount applied.

For the Mar 23 Savings Bonds, amount of bonds issued was $258,266,500, same as the amount applied.

Quantity ceiling for each successful applicant for the Feb 23 and Mar 23 Savings Bonds was at $200,000 (the maximum allotment amount per successful applicant.).

What stood out for the Apr 23 Savings Bonds, was that for the first time since Mar 23 Savings Bonds, the amount of Singapore Savings Bonds issued at $700,000 was lower than the amount applied of $751,347,500. The maximum allotment amount per successful applicant hence became reduced to $68,500 as a result of demand now much higher than supply.

There has been some dips in the fixed interest rates scene and I believe people are trying to catch high interest rates before they taper off, while the party still lasts.
