Dear readers, yesterday, as I was walking home after a groceries trip, with my hands carrying bags and bags, I was approached by a Chinese lady near my house.
The Chinese lady does not seem local as she spoke to me. From her accent, she was from China. Initially I thought she was merely asking for directions. But I was surprised when she asked me whether I l could lend her some monies.
I politely declined and it was then that her tone became a tad serious. She asked me why I was laughing when in fact I was not. I walked away but I could still hear her pleads for monies after I turned away.
On hindsight, I should have asked her to seek financial assistance from the authorities here. But I believe I was too disturbed or too surprised that this was happening that I walked away quickly.
