ANOTHER BRAND NEW YEAR COMING! CELEBRATE THE YEAR IN A MEANINGFUL WAY!

Dear readers, we are in the month of November! And soon, we will be ushering in a brand new year! Time indeed flies!

Time flies fast for me this year due to the fast and hectic work that I have been managing. Even if there is an absolute need to work long hours days after days, weeks after weeks, I still strive my best to lead a balanced life. Balanced life is really about not forgetting that beside our work obligations, we still have other important areas in life: health, family, social interactions and hobbies to take care of and manage.

And also not forgetting making a positive difference in the community. On this note, when I was in my younger days, I would still have had some time to be involved in some efforts to help the community. At this juncture of life, I make it a point to donate regularly to good causes.

Making a regular donation to good causes really comes from the heart. Even though I may not earn the highest wages or be as rich as some others, I take comfort that the income that I am bringing in monthly not only provides me and my family with food and shelter, educational opportunities for my kids and some material entertainment from time to time, I can really be part of a larger effort to help many who are really in need with my donations. This to me is really meaningful!

A meal in Singapore easily costs $20 per person; with this amount, I can be part of the efforts to help children in other less privileged communities gain access to water, just through my donations. And this to me is a very good and meaningful use of my monies, knowing that I can make a positive contribution in others’ life.

And I am able to make these positive contributions through my regular donation to World Vision, an  international humanitarian organization helping children, families, and their communities overcome poverty and injustice, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender.

With $50, we can help provide water for 8 drought-affected villagers.

With $80, we can help child labourers in Bangladesh to return to school.

With $210, we can help in treating malnourished pregnant and lactating women in Africa.

And it is really meaningful and heartening to know that we can do so much more in the improvement of lives with our monies.

And I always find it rewarding and meaningful to close off each year, knowing that I am able to make some meaningful contributions in different parts of the world.

I would like to close off this post by saying that this is definitely not a sponsored post, just a sharing of how all of us can do a little more to help the international community in our daily lives and experience a deep sense of meaningfulness of these efforts in our lives!
