Dear readers, today, at the close of the workday, I bade my colleagues in office adieu.
And in addition, I wished them Happy New Year and told them that I will see them next year since the next time I will be coming back to office is next week i.e. next year.
With that, I have almost come to the close of another year in work.
It has yet been another year at work not without challenges. I was given some important assignments, have new colleagues to report to me and I also took on additional responsibilities. I took these on in my stride. And to be frank, I am used to the many different portfolios, some of which are very challenging tossed to me. My work-related mantra, as an Engineering-trained, former industrial engineer is to “Problem Solve”! I treat each and every work as a problem to be solved, like an engineer solving yet another engineering problem.
I am Grateful to have a Great boss and supportive colleagues. These are important at work and for work, especially for full-time employees like me who depend on the employment income for a living.
It is important to be happy at work since many full-time employees like myself spend a bulk of our lives at work. And even if there are challenges, it is always useful to have a positive mindset, as this will transform challenges into training grounds for myself.
I have been through a number of downs in my career. I can tell you my career is not all smooth sailing. It takes a lot of grit to overcome the challenges. And it is important to be resilient in the face of challenges even if people doubt your capabilities.
I wish all readers a Successful work and career for the next year! No matter how challenging one work is, I hope everyone finds and see meaning in one’s work, beside earning an income to support ourselves and our families in the current environment where costs of many things are getting higher and higher than ever.
Besides working hard, I hope everyone finds time to slow down amidst the fast pace of life and enjoy and be Grateful for the simple joys of living.
