Dear readers, when Singapore was in the thick of the Covid-19 situation, we have a group of healthcare and frontline workers in the healthcare sector to help fight against Covid-19. This group is often recognised as healthcare heroes by many of us.
As Singapore gradually eases into pre-Covid 19 normalcy, these healthcare and frontline workers continue to be essential and important in keeping the Covid-19 situation in Singapore stabilised. Beside this group of works, a new group of heroes have also emerged in our daily lives.
This new group of heroes are actually foodstall owners and operators at our neighbourhoods who do not charge customers higher prices despite the increase in raw materials, water, electricity, inflation and still maintain the good standard in their dishes.
With the high cost of living, every time I buy a meal outside and found that I still enjoy reasonable or even attractive prices for the meal and if the meal is also Good, I feel Grateful to the foodstall owners and think that they are our heroes in these inflation times.
