Dear readers, today is Vesak Day. I wish all Buddhists a Happy Vesak Day and all here in Singapore a Happy Public Holiday.
Vesak Day is a day where we also commemorate the enlightenment of Buddha. Hence, I believe this festival is also one that reminds All to be enlightened in all we do.
In the area of finance, in this decade, if the many scams that happen these days are not enough, we also have AI that has become more commonly used, be it for good or bad. When AI is used for scams, it is no longer easy to distinguish the truth from falsehood. Seeing is now not always believing. As such, when it comes to parting with our monies, we must be enlightened enough to tell whether the investment or reason we are giving our monies to is a scam or not.
Aside from scams, in this current world of social media, we are also getting lots of exposure to marketing messages and promotions in relation to returns of opportunities. It is again important to be enlightened here and not to give in to greed, to give our hard-earned monies for promises that may not be delivered.
A silly question that I read these days is to ask someone what to do if you have some spare monies like $10,000. The reason for these is you will get every kind of reason from all kinds of folks to give them your monies!
A Happy Vesak Day to All! A reminder to stay vigilant always and be enlightened in this current world to preserve our hard-earned savings!
