Dear readers, with costs of living going higher, it is no surprise that a cup of coffee, from those toast chains can go as high as $3!
Price of a cup of coffee that goes up to $3 a cup was something I noticed from one of a particular chain’s outlet in Orchard Road. In other areas of Singapore like the neighbourhood, price for the same cup of coffee, from the same chain is around $2.50 to $3!
For coffee prices in the regular kopitiams or coffeeshops, I noticed that on averages, prices have seemed to increased from $1.10 to $1.20 range to $1.30 to $1.40 and these are the lowest range of prices that I have encountered so far for coffee prices in the heartlands.
Many Singaporeans consume coffee for the caffeine that should power many of us through hectic work days.
But sometime, after paying higher prices for the coffee, I find myself drinking something like milky drink instead, as the stall owner further cuts costs by using less coffee powder. In such cases, I will not likely patronise the same coffee shop for the coffee again.
