Dear readers, around this time every year, the quantum of Civil Service Mid Year Bonus will be announced. How much will Civil Service Mid Year Bonus 2020 be in light of the Covid-19 situation?
As a recap, Singapore’s civil servants had mid-year bonus of 0.45 month, 0.5 month, 0.5 month and 0.45 month in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 respectively. Given the Covid-19 situation and the current state of the economy, I believe Civil Servants should be getting lesser than the 0.45 month mid-year bonus they received last year. I will rule out though a zero mid-year bonus for Civil servants since it is not that Singapore is already in recession.
I would also think that perhaps public healthcare workers could in fact be receiving a higher mid-year bonus in view of their hard work fighting Covid-19.
